Hi, I’m Dwight.

I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from Biola University in La Mirada, California.  For over two decades, I have lived in the Birmingham, Alabama area.

As a hobby, I used to help friends and family members with different web projects.  These include some ASP pages, some XML/XSL pages, and several straight HTML/CSS projects.  See the Projects page for links to some of the pages I’ve done.  WordPress is my preferred Content Management platform, so I’ve authored several WordPress projects (including this one).  I obviously don’t spend a lot of time on this site, but it’s a convenient way for me to share content with people.

In my day job, I lead FinTech consulting teams at FIS, primarily focused on Wealth and Retirement Administration.  I’ve been working in retirement technology for 25+ years, and I love it.  This is not my job; it is my calling.  It doesn’t make sense to any of my family or friends, but I don’t care.  In my job, I’ve indirectly been able to positively impact millions of people, although they will never know it.  A summary of my professional work history can be found on the career page.

Although it isn’t a common name, I understand that I am not the only person named “Dwight Barrows” on this planet.  If you are one of the few others, please say hello.  Maybe we could start a club or something. 🙂  I know that I share the name with a Romanian-American minister, and I believe a Dwight Barrows owns an auto-body shop.  Some day I would like to meet them both.
